    Welcome

The Duluth/Superior Alpine Club programs provide the opportunity for skiers 7-18 years old to learn this life-long sport and develop and refine their alpine and freestyle skiing skills through competitive skiing. Racing/competition opportunities begin at the local club level and extend to the more competitive national (USSA) and international (FIS) level, as well as high school racing.

Training takes place primarily at Spirit Mountain throughout the ski season. Older skiers may take part in spring, summer and fall dryland workouts held at various locations and Fall Camp at Winter Park, CO.

Young skiers also learn the life lessons of fitness, goal setting, preparation, teamwork, communication and setting a good example for others through the D/SAC program. D/SAC alpine programs provide a rare opportunity for both athletes AND parents to pursue their passion for a life-long sport, together. Parental involvement is a hallmark of our program.

D/SAC is funded through team fees and its annual fund raising events—the Ski Swap, Holiday Camp, the Atmore Memorial Cup, the Patron's Fund, our sponsorship program and other fundraising activities intended to make participation affordable.

For athletes needing financial assistance, scholarships may be available through the G Scott Ransom Scholarship fund. The scholarships are administered by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.

The Duluth/Superior Alpine Club is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, and is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors and paid professional coaches.

D/SAC is pleased to have Spirit Mountain as its home base since 1979, site of the prestigious Atmore Memorial FIS race each year.
