    Holiday Camp

    December 27-30, 2011

    Register Now!

Do you want your children to learn a lifetime sport you can enjoy as a family?

Then join us at Spirit Mountain during Holiday Break. At the four day DSAC Holiday Camp, children from 5-16 years old will learn to handle the runs with ease and become more confident on the snow!

Children are grouped by age and ability. Skills taught by the certified instructors range from learning to put skis or snowbards on to riding the tow and chairlift to making parallel turns down the more advanced hills.

Upper level skiers will be able to try "gate training" (weather permitting).

    Levels are based on:
    1) Minimal or no experience on skis/snowboard.
    2) Comfortable on rope tow. Can easily perform linked wedge turns across hill.
    3) Beginning to parallel. Comfortable on green and blue runs.
    4) Comfortable with parallel turns, but needs improvement in technique.
Snowboard levels will be determined on snow the first morning of camp.

    Mandatory Helmet
Your child's safety comes first!  All children participating in the Holiday Ski and Snowboard Camp, as well as all other DSAC programs, are required to wear a helmet.

    Registration & Fees
Registration is on line.  Fees for the 4 day camp is $145 if registering on or before December 1, and $165 after.  Lift tickets and ski equipment rental are available for an additional charge.

    Lift tickets
Lift tickets are not included in the camp fee.  Spirit Mountain offers a special four-day that  may be purchased for $60.  Children six and under, and season pass holders do not need to purchase a lift ticket.

    Equipment Rental
Ski Equpment (skis, boots and poles) may be rented through holiday camp.  The $40, four-day rental allows equipment to be taken home each night and returned after the last day of camp.  Unfortunately, snowboard rentals are not available through Holiday Camp.

    Check-in & Camp Times
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. Dec 27 in the Bear Paw Chalet. All other days, check-in begins at 8:45 a.m. Each day, instruction on snow begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Groups break for lunch and warm-up as needed. All children must be picked up by 3:15 pm.

    Lunch
Participants should bring a bag lunch or make plans to buy lunch at Spirit Mountain’s Mountain Top Café. They will eat with their group in the Bear Paw Chalet.

Please Note:  Children under 7 will be required to have a parent/designated guardian to be present during camp hours. This person will assist the child at lunch, getting geared up to go outside, bathroom breaks and cold weather breaks.

    Refund Policy
Due to the nature of Holiday Camp, no refunds will be processed beyond Dec 9. Any refunds prior to Dec 9 will be considered only in regard to an emergency or unexpected event.Holiday Camp is set up in conjunction with Spirit Mountain as a 4 day package. We are unable to refund any participant for any days they are unable to attend.

    High School Holiday Race Camp

Are you interested in getting a jump on the upcoming racing season or improving your level of skiing/racing? This 4 day camp will focus on advanced skiing and racing techniques. It is designed to improve the high school-aged athlete's ability to carve, control edging, and maintain balance. Athletes will also work on racing tactics, such as timing in the gates and the ability to pick and ski a proper line through a race course.  For more information, please call David Thickens at 218.348.5040
