Fun Race and Race Ski Demo 3/14

    Monday, March 8, 2010

    Fun Race
Spring is here, and it is time for our club fun race.  The race format will be two runs of Slalom followed by two runs of GS.  The best SL run will be added to the best GS run to determine total time.  Inspection for the SL runs will begin at 9:30am, and we should wrap up with awards about noon. This is going to be a casual, low pressure race, and should be a lot of fun.

We will be grilling burgers and hotdogs (provided), and hope that folks will bring sides and drinks to share - sort of a quasi pot-luck.

It would be helpful to get a sense of numbers, so please sign up on the sheet in the team room.

    Race Ski Demo
Ski Hut has arranged for several ski companies (Volkl, Blizzard, Head and maybe Fischer) to bring demo race skis on Sunday for our athletes to try out.  They can try them during the morning, or we will also re-set a SL course after the fun race and continue to provide timing.  The focus will be primarily on Slalom skis, but there should be some GS skis as well.  This is a great opportunity for athletes to find the skis that work best for them.  The demo will start at 9:00 and wrap up early afternoon.

    Remember, the time change!
Saturday night (technically early Sunday morning) is when we "spring forward", so make sure you set your clocks ahead or you will show up to the fun race an hour late. :(
